Swedish nuclear medicine software developer Hermes Medical Solutions has introduced new SPECT reconstruction software.
SUV SPECT is software for quantitative SPECT/CT reconstruction in the company's Vendor-Neutral Modality (VNM) suite of products, and is specifically designed as an add-on module for use with Hermes' Hybrid Recon SPECT-CT reconstruction. Absolute SPECT/CT quantification of standardized uptake values (SUV) is now available.
The system's software algorithms enable a conversion of the recorded counts per voxel into activity per unit volume with SUV calculations. It also combines with attenuation correction from a hybrid SPECT/CT scanner or SPECT-only camera (utilizing an independent CT module) and a Monte Carlo-modeled scatter correction.
