Canute International Medical Services (CIMS) has announced its plans to grow on a global scale during the next 12 months.
Set up in 2005, CIMS provides turnkey solutions to the diagnostic imaging industry, offering a range of specialist services including transportation, engineering, warehousing, remarketing, and installation of diagnostic medical equipment.
The firm began its operation by supplying engineering services to the U.K. National Health Service (NHS) and taking unwanted large equipment items such as MRI systems back to its warehouse facility to remarket them to private buyers in emerging markets.
The firm has monthly medical auctions at their 38,000-sq-ft Wokingham, U.K., facility where buyers can bid on equipment in person or online via the i-bidder platform. In addition to remarketing the products, CIMS also wipes data from equipment hard drives to ensure it can't be released into the public domain.
Customers can test equipment before buying, and each auction sees up to 150 buyers bidding either in person or online via live webcam.
The focus for the next 12 months will be to grow the company's medical auctions tenfold and make its service more global, providing a complete life-cycle service that connects end users across the world with the equipment they need, CIMS said.
