Radiopharmaceutical provider Ion Beam Applications (IBA) has inked a deal to install its first proton therapy center in India.
The contract with Apollo Hospitals in Chennai is worth approximately 50 million euros ($66.6 million U.S.). It includes a long-term operation and maintenance contract as well as financing, IBA said.
IBA will equip the center with its ProteusPlus multiroom configuration, which will include three treatment rooms with pencil-beam scanning capability. The firm said it will also provide all dosimetry equipment.
The center is expected to open in 2016.
