Spanish MR researcher receives 2013 Pro Academia Prize

The Round Table Foundation (TRTF) and European Magnetic Resonance Forum (EMRF) have awarded their Pro Academia Prize for 2013 to Dr. Luis MartĂ-BonmatĂ, PhD, of Valencia, Spain.

Martí-Bonmatí, a professor in the Servicio de Radiología at Hospital Quirón, leads an academic network that includes the following group leaders representing their respective groups: ángel Alberich Bayarri, Ventura Casanova, Bernardo Celda, Julio Doménech, Marien Gadea Doménech, Daniel García Párraga, Fernando Gómez, Vicente Hernández, María de la Iglesia, Antonio Pellicer, Montse Robles, and Julio Sanjuán.

The Pro Academia Prize was established in 2012 and is designed to honor one or several academic groups that serve as an example of academic cooperation. Their members must have worked together and succeeded in reaching their goals over a period of at least eight years and created what the organizations describe as "nurseries" of scientific eminence.

For more than 25 years, the TRFT and EMRF have given the European Magnetic Resonance Award to scientists who have made a major contribution to MRI in medicine throughout Europe.
