Philips debuts mobile x-ray unit

Philips Healthcare has introduced Practix 360, a mobile radiography system.

Featuring four free-swiveling wheels that allow for 360° movement, Practix 360 weighs 175 kg, according to the vendor. It includes a long-life LED collimator light and an optional source-to-image distance (SID) laser light.

The LED collimator is 150% brighter than conventional collimator lights, and the SID laser light shows the SID at 100 cm or 110 cm, Philips said. It also has a 30 kW generator option to support a range of x-ray examinations, according to the firm.

In addition, Philips has included a built-in pediatric filter and a high-resolution x-ray tube option with a short 1 msec exposure time setting and two foci for pediatric examinations. A thermal printing option for the system's dosimeter provides technologists with dose data.

Practix 360 can also be equipped with a remote control option to support technologist safety and workflow optimization, Philips said. When paired with the vendor's Eleva computed radiography systems, radiography images can also be quickly digitized, the company said.

The unit is initially available in all CE-labeling countries in the European Economic Area, including all member states of the European Union and also countries in the Asia-Pacific region, Africa, and the Middle East. Philips said the system will also soon be available in China and Russia.
