A region of Sweden has extended its contract with GE Healthcare through 2015, the company announced at the World of Health IT Congress in Budapest, Hungary.
The Västra Götaland region includes 17 hospitals, and as part of the contract the region will also implement GE's eHealth Image Exchange platform and Centricity Enterprise Archive.
Included in the contract expansion is the introduction of Centricity Enterprise Archive's information lifecycle management (ILM) application, which allows the Swedish region to implement a standard archiving process across all its hospitals. ILM allows the region to make more cost-effective use of the storage cloud and allows one-step control of storage period, image compression ratio, and management of tiered storage, GE said.
