Radiopharmaceutical developer Ion Beam Applications (IBA) has acquired a minority stake in a German provider of PET radiopharmaceuticals founded by imaging pioneer Willi Kalender, PhD.
IBA has purchased 25.2% of PET Net from its owner, Medical Imaging Research Holding. PET Net was founded by Kalender in 1998, and has two commercial PET sites in Erlangen and Regensburg. PET Net has European marketing authorization for FDG, and is a service provider for established PET production sites.
IBA said it plans to expand its manufacturing and distribution network in every major nuclear medicine market in the world.
