Radiology informatics firm Aycan Medical Systems has formed a partnership with imaging software developer Definiens.
Under the partnership, Definiens of Parsippany, NJ, has combined its LungExpert lung tumor image analysis software with the Rochester, NY-based vendor's OsiriX Pro software. The result is a workstation that quantifies lung tumors according to Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines as well as by their volume, the companies said.
Aycan is expected to release the workstation in early 2011. A first version was shown by Definiens in the Quantitative Imaging Reading Room at last week's 2010 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
