Siemens scores U.S. antitrust OK for Dade Behring deal

Siemens Medical Solutions has passed a key hurdle in its proposed acquisition of Deerfield, IL-based Dade Behring for approximately $7 billion in cash.

Erlangen, Germany-based Siemens has received U.S. antitrust clearance for its wholly owned subsidiary, Belfast Merger, to acquire the clinical laboratory equipment company for $77 per share of Dade Behring common stock.

On September 5, the tender offer was extended to 12:00 midnight, east coast U.S. time, on September 26. Siemens hopes to complete the acquisition before the end of this year.
