HIMSS launches HIMSS Analytics Europe

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) has announced the formation of HIMSS Analytics Europe to provide healthcare organizations, governments, and IT companies with data resources and services for adopting and using healthcare IT in Europe.

The Chicago-headquartered organization announced that its recent acquisition of assets from Hospital-IT.Net will serve as the foundation of the new company, forming the basis for a new portfolio of products and services for the European healthcare market. Uwe Buddrus, former owner of Hospital-IT.Net, will serve as managing director of HIMSS Analytics Europe in Leipzig, Germany.

Planned services will include comparative IT adoption benchmarking, resources for country-level policymakers and supplier companies that provide insight into the healthcare IT market, resources to help better understand IT operations, and development of a European-formulated EMR Adoption Model.

A full launch of resources is planned for late fall, according to HIMSS.
