Elekta receives French MEG contract

Radiation oncology firm Elekta of Stockholm has signed a contract to deliver its Elekta Neuromag magnetoencephalography (MEG) technology to NeuroSpin of Saclay, France.

The contract is part of a collaboration between Elekta and French state-owned research entities Le Commissariat à l'Énergie Atomique (CEA) and L'Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM).

The MEG system will be installed in the second quarter of 2008 at CEA's new NeuroSpin facility. NeuroSpin is slated to become Europe's largest site for brain imaging studies, hosting as many as 150 research scientists and engineers from CEA and INSERM.
