German medical instruments developer Somatex Medical Technologies will introduce several new MR-compatible products for minimally invasive surgical procedures at the upcoming German Roentgen Congress in Berlin.
The new instruments feature paramagnetic materials and include an MRI Chiba needle for the injection of drugs or for fine-needle aspiration biopsies; a coaxial MR puncture cannula with a sharp trocar tip; MR Tumark Professional for tissue marking under MR guidance; MRI Biopsy Handy for obtaining tissue material from soft tissues and organs; and MR Tuloc localization system for preoperative marking of suspicious tissue, according to the Teltow-based vendor.
