Philips, Elsevier to partner on speech recognition

Dutch industrial conglomerate Royal Philips Electronics announced that it will collaborate with Elsevier to integrate Philips' speech recognition platform with Elsevier's radiology diagnostic reference system, the Netherlands-based company reported.

Philips' SpeechMagic will be combined with Elsevier's RadConsult in an effort to reduce medical errors during review and diagnosis of patient cases, according to Philips, parent of Philips Medical Systems of Andover, MA. RadConsult delivers radiology images and differential diagnosis content via the Web.
