Elekta inks deal with St. Louis health network

Elekta of Stockholm, Sweden, has signed an agreement with Sisters of Mercy Health System in St. Louis.

The deal will allow the hospital to offer its members the image-guided Elekta Synergy for advanced intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) using x-ray volume imaging, Elekta Synergy S (for stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy), and Elekta Axesse (for extracranial stereotactic radiation therapy, or SRT).

In other Elekta news, the company plans to debut a new radiation therapy system at this month's 2007 European Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO) meeting in Barcelona, Spain.
