Radiation therapy developer Varian Medical Systems of Palo Alto, CA, has installed its 1,000th On-Board Imager image-guidance system at Kantonsspital in Lucerne, Switzerland.
The system was delivered with a new Clinac iX accelerator, replacing a 16-year-old system.
On-Board Imager is a robotic x-ray device mounted on a medical linear accelerator, which generates images to precisely position cancer patients for radiotherapy and radiosurgery.
