GE Healthcare has announced that it is entering into agreements in Spain and Italy to evaluate its Vscan pocket-sized ultrasound scanner in the clinical setting.
Over the next few months, more than 20 medical professionals at USP Hospitales in Spain and University of Naples Frederico II in Italy will perform clinical impact evaluation of Vscan, a handheld ultrasound scanner unveiled in October, the Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., company said.
In addition, these clinicians will be charged with evaluating Vscan's overall potential impact on patient care and developing specific medical protocols for use by general practitioners, intensive care specialists, and cardiologists.
Additional evaluation sites are planned in Spain and Italy.
