German multimodality vendor Siemens has formally changed the name of its global healthcare division from Siemens Medical Solutions to Siemens Healthcare.
The change was first announced in November as part of an overall restructuring of the Erlangen company, and takes effect this month.
Three divisions comprise Siemens Healthcare: Imaging & IT, which encompasses the company's products for diagnosis and therapeutic intervention; Workflow & Solutions, which includes products and services for market segments such as cardiology, oncology, urology, surgery, and women's health; and Diagnostics, which covers the company's recent corporate acquisitions of in vitro diagnostics firms.
Representatives for the company's U.S. division in Malvern, PA, said the unit will continue to carry the Siemens Medical Solutions name until further notice.
