Carestream Health of Rochester, NY, has installed its 2,000th high-resolution computed radiography (CR) system for mammography at a German hospital, the company announced.
The Rechts der Isar Clinic in Munich installed Carestream's Kodak DirectView CR 975 mammography feature, which allows mammography images to be captured digitally with a facility's existing mammography x-ray unit.
This optional mammography feature is available to Carestream customers in Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia, and other regions of the world where approved for use when purchasing a new Elite, Classic, or CR 975 system, or as a retrofit to these systems, Carestream said. Carestream has applied to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for approval to market CR for mammography in the U.S.
