Sectra readies RSNA introductions

Swedish PACS and digital mammography vendor Sectra will bring a number of new additions to its product portfolio to the 2010 RSNA meeting in Chicago.

In RIS/PACS activities, the Linköping-based vendor will introduce offerings designed to provide vendor-neutral data sharing. Built on the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) XDS-I profile for cross-enterprise sharing, Sectra users will be able to gain immediate access to all clinical data from any connected discipline, independent of location or RIS/PACS vendor, Sectra said.

Sectra will also debut Sectra Order Management for the northern European market. The application allows electronic requests to be created and transferred directly into the radiology workflow, according to the vendor.

In developments with its MicroDose Mammography full-field digital mammography (FFDM) system, Sectra will present the latest findings from the clinical evaluation of tomosynthesis and spectral imaging technology.

The firm said it will also highlight new features and functionalities within MicroDose Mammography, including a laser-based needle examination add-on for lesion localization during preoperative planning, additional detector enhancements to further increase dose efficiency and image quality, and support for Sectra's remote monitoring service.

Sectra will also showcase new securely encrypted data transfer technology for its mobile MicroDose system.
