Digital x-ray developer AFP Imaging of Elmsford, NY, has sold its Italian Quantitative Radiology (QR) subsidiary, developer of the NewTom conebeam CT (CBCT) dental scanner.
AFP sold QR to Cefla Capital Services in a stock purchase transaction. The proceeds of the sale have been used to reduce AFP's domestic secured debt, increase its working capital, and position the company to expand its product distribution throughout the world.
QR of Verona will distribute NewTom exclusively through AFP Imaging in North, Central, and South America; Australia; South Africa; and Israel.
AFP will continue to manufacture and distribute worldwide its other x-ray imaging products, which include EVA digital sensors, panoramic x-rays, and film processors.
Cefla's Dental Group of Imola, Italy, manufactures dental equipment and is a subsidiary of Cefla, a multinational manufacturer of technology products for numerous industries.
