Radiopharmaceutical firm Ion Beam Applications (IBA) of Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, has signed a deal to build a proton therapy center in Trento, Italy.
The company inked the contract with Agenzia Provinciale Per la Protonterapia for the first gantry-equipped proton therapy center in the country.
IBA plans to include its newest pencil-beam scanning system at the facility, which is scheduled to open in 2013.
