Swedish 3D mammography developer XCounter and University of Erlangen spin-off Artemis Imaging said they are working to develop a 3D breast CT system.
Artemis Imaging, which is led by CT pioneer Willi Kalender, Ph.D., intends to develop, validate, clinically test, and commercialize a low-dose, high-resolution breast CT scanner using XCounter's solid-state digital detector technology, according to XCounter of Danderyd.
In other XCounter news, the company has extended its existing call option for Finnish digital x-ray detector supplier AJAT. As a result, XCounter can now purchase all outstanding shares in AJAT within 12 to 18 months of the original deal for 1.93 new XCounter shares, approximately 4.4% of its currently issued share capital.
