Barco set to acquire FIMI

Image display firm Barco has signed an agreement to acquire Italian display company FIMI, a fully owned subsidiary of Royal Philips Electronics Healthcare.

Barco anticipates additional portfolio offerings with the acquisition and entry into new market segments such as mobile point-of-care devices. The total transaction cost at closing is 19 million euro ($28 million U.S.), the company said.

The contract also provides for additional earn-out of 10 million euro ($15 million U.S.) over the next five years, according to the Kortrijk, Belgium-based company.
