Siemens taps new U.S. healthcare chief

German multimodality vendor Siemens Healthcare of Erlangen, Germany, has named nuclear medicine executive Michael Reitermann as head of its U.S. healthcare division in Malvern, PA.

Reitermann previously was CEO of Siemens' Molecular Imaging division in Hoffman Estates, IL, a position he occupied since 2002. In his new job, he oversees sales, marketing, service, and logistics of the company's U.S. operations. He replaces Heinrich Kolem, who is moving to Germany to lead the company's Angiography and X-Ray (AX) division.

Replacing Reitermann as CEO of Molecular Imaging is Britta Fuenfstueck, who previously was vice president of business strategy, mergers and acquisition, innovation, and collaboration at Siemens. She joined Siemens in 2000 as part of project management for Siemens' global e-business initiatives, and has served in positions in the company's healthcare IT and MRI divisions.
