EagleView Ultrasound has launched its first point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) device: a handheld, whole-body probe that weighs in at about 200 grams.
The EagleView probe features one dual-head transducer and is capable of scanning from shallow to deep on the body with one flip, the company said. The device is useful in vascular, musculoskeletal, abdominal, cardiac, gynecology, obstetric, urology, kidney, and lung scanning.
The EagleView probe allows users to view and share clinical images on smartphones, tablets, and PCs for free, the company said. In addition, five Doppler modes are provided without extra fees: B-mode, M-mode, Color Doppler, Power Doppler, and Pulsed Wave Doppler.
The device works on both iOS and Android platforms. The probe costs $3,200 (2,692 euros) and weighs about 200 grams. It was designed to be small and light enough to fit in a pocket, EagleView said.
