Women's imaging firm Hologic received the CE Mark for its Brevera breast biopsy system with CorLumina workflow technology.
Designed for both 2D and 3D breast biopsies, Brevera combines tissue acquisition, real-time imaging, sample verification, and postbiopsy handling in an integrated system, according to the vendor. In addition, CorLumina automates the tissue sample collection and sharing process, enabling patient tissue to be sent to pathology with little or no manual handling, the company said. It also offers PACS integration for image sharing and transfer of patient records.
Brevera can be used with Hologic's Affirm prone biopsy system, Affirm breast biopsy guidance system, and MultiCare Platinum system, as well as most upright and prone systems on the market, according to the firm.
