Royal Philips Electronics, the parent company of Philips Healthcare, plans to debut a new mobile surgical C-arm at the upcoming European Society of Vascular Surgery annual meeting in Stockholm.
The company's Veradius Unity Mobile Surgical C-arm with flat detector includes a touch screen for improved communication in the operating room -- and contributes to 45% less miscommunication between physicians and technologists and a rate of 94% for first-time correct positioning using the systems' Position Memory feature, according to Royal Philips. As well, it requires 24% fewer images to find the correct C-arm position, the company said.
