The French Radiology Professional Council (“G4 Radiology”) said its pilot scheme to initiate clinical audits of radiology practices has been completed at 77 facilities from both the public and private sectors in 2025.
That’s up from 46 audits in 2024, the council said. The initiative was launched at the end of 2023 and is part of the European Commission’s 2013/59/Euratom Directive, which requires member states to guarantee the radiation protection and safety of patients exposed to ionizing radiation.
The feedback from the audited sites is very encouraging, and this innovative system is working well and offers a real lever to improve the quality and safety of practices, G4 Radiology said in a recent post.
G4 Radiology comprises representatives from the College of Radiology Teachers of France, the National Federation of Radiologists, the French Society of Radiology, and the Union of Hospital Radiologists.
