Toshiba points to success in carbon reduction campaign

Toshiba Medical Systems U.K. said that every piece of its medical imaging equipment sold in the U.K. is now carbon-neutral to the environment.

Toshiba said it achieved this milestone via its CarbonZero initiative, along with a partnership with carbon management firm CO2balance. Over the last six years, Toshiba has cut its vehicle emissions by 33% and reduced building energy use by 50%, according to the vendor.

Via its partnership with CO2balance, Toshiba said it's also able to offset the residual footprint of its products manufactured in Japan through CO2balance's Kenyan Energy Efficient Stove and Ugandan Borehole projects in Africa.
