Carestream announces mobile x-ray installations in U.K.

Blackpool Victoria Hospital and the Lancashire Cardiac Centre in the U.K. have both installed DRX-Revolution mobile x-ray systems from Carestream Health.

The centers, both part of the Blackpool Teaching Hospitals National Health Service (NHS) Trust, have about 830 beds across all sites, and the radiology department performs more than 136,000 exams annually; about 10,000 studies are mobile exams and 5,000 are acquired on mobile x-ray units, Carestream said. The ability to view images as they appear and make clinical decisions immediately has a positive impact on patient care, according to a radiology manager at NHS.
