Philips gets 1st Dutch Ingenuity TF PET/MR sale

Royal Philips Electronics announced that its first sale of its Ingenuity TF PET/MR scanner in the Netherlands has been made to the VU University Medical Center Amsterdam.

The Ingenuity TF PET/MR scanner combines the molecular imaging capabilities of PET with the soft-tissue imaging capabilities of MRI. The system acquires sequential PET and MR images, which enables very accurate overlaying of the images to create a fused image, according to Philips.

The time-of-flight PET/MRI system will be used by researchers to investigate new methods of diagnosing and treating cancer and neurological disorders, according to the medical center. It will also allow clinicians to deliver personalized medicine to their patients.
