Philips ships 100th Ingenia MRI system

Philips Healthcare has shipped 100 Ingenia MRI systems, its digital broadband MRI modality. The recipient of the 100th system is the Rothschild Foundation in Paris.

Philips states that its dStream digital system architecture enables an improvement of up to 40% in signal-to-noise ratios compared with its previous generation of MRI systems. Integrated, hidden posterior coils, and other dStream coils enable whole upper-body imaging and coverage for the total body, with minimal manipulation of the patient or coil. This capability can reduce exam preparation time and provide more patient comfort, according to the company.

The system's digital architecture also overcomes scalability limitations typical of analog-based systems, the company reported.
