Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems has announced that its RapidArc radiotherapy technology is now being used for the first time in North Africa at Al Kindy Hospital in Casablanca, Morocco.
The RapidArc system is being used with Varian's Clinac DHX medical linear accelerator, installed at the private cancer clinic in 2010. To date, more than 20 treatments for prostate and head and neck cancers have been performed.
Al Kindy Hospital treats patients living in Morocco, Mali, Mauritania, and Senegal.
