Software developer PeerVue is providing its Qualitative Intelligence and Communications System (QICS) IT platform as part of a nationwide medical image management and communication system that Sectra is installing in Northern Ireland.
The integration of QICS will add teaching file capabilities to Sectra's ongoing integrated RIS/PACS project in Northern Ireland, according to PeerVue. Twenty-six hospitals are currently connected to Sectra's NIPACS, with installations continuing at other sites. The project is sponsored by the Department of Health, Social Services, and Public Safety (DHSSPS).
With QICS, users will be able to author and publish cases from the NIPACS archive to system-wide teaching file worklists, according to PeerVue. The PeerVue QICS application is launched directly from the NIPACS software and will enable users to access patient images from any location, PeerVue said.
The company said it expects QICS to be activated in August.
