Agfa Healthcare has launched a new set of advanced imaging processing applications and 3D volume rendering tools for its Impax PACS, as well as a meaningful use dashboard for Impax Business Intelligence, at this week's RSNA 2011 meeting in Chicago.
Impax Clinical Applications 2.1 integrates advanced processing directly with Impax PACS workflow and on a single desktop, according to the company. Users can switch between applications without reloading images and have easy access to a patient's prior images for comparison studies.
A modular configuration also increases the flexibility of upgrades for applications ranging from basic maximum intensity projections to advanced PET/CT interpretation.
Key features include the following:
- Flexible presentation layouts that adapt to workflows
- New framework to aid system stability and simplify maintenance
- Ability to export a new imaging series or cine images to the original study
- Automatic selection of either the central processing unit or graphics processing unit for accelerated 3D volume rendering
- Comparative study viewing modes with automatic and manual series registration and synchronized side-by-side 3D image viewing
- 3D CT angiography vessel viewing
