The European Society of Radiology (ESR) needs expert volunteers to help ensure that medical imaging is fully and effectively represented in the implementation of the European Union (EU) Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Regulation.
HTA regulation will directly impact radiology, according to the ESR. At stake is whether new technologies are deemed valuable enough for adoption and reimbursement, based not only on their clinical benefit but also on their economic, societal, and ethical impact.
Fully applicable as of 12 January, the HTA regulation introduces a harmonized EU-wide framework for evaluating the clinical effectiveness, safety, and economic impact of new health technologies through joint clinical assessments.
ESR members from the EU27, European Economic Area countries, and the U.K. are invited.
More details are available on the ESR website.
