University Hospital Bern (Inselspital) in Switzerland has signed an agreement with Bayer to install the vendor's Calantic Digital Solutions medical imaging platform.

Under the deal, the hospital will install the AI platform at its Institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology over the coming months, Bayer said in a news release. Calantic is a cloud-hosted, vendor-neutral platform that contains apps to help radiologists and their teams improve prioritization, lesion detection, quantification, and productivity.

The partnership aims to enhance the clinical adoption of AI, according to the company. Under the deal, Inselspital will implement Calantic into its clinical practice, and Bayer and Inselspital will jointly generate real-world clinical evidence to demonstrate the benefits of using AI, including the benefits of deploying a platform to enable AI tools for medical imaging, it noted.

Bayer said it will provide the hospital with services relating to installation, configuration, and training of the platform and its applications.
