Microsoft has launched Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare, a dedicated cloud-based service for healthcare providers that includes new offerings such as Medical Imaging Server for DICOM.
Designed to streamline the process of integrating medical imaging data in the cloud, the service's open-source Medical Imaging Server for DICOM utilizes DICOM Cast technology along with the company's Azure API for Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) or other FHIR services to integrate imaging metadata with clinical data, according to Microsoft.
