Oxipit's ChestEye to be sold in Nigeria

Artificial intelligence (AI) software developer Oxipit has signed an agreement with Swiss medical products distributor Healthcare Konnect for the distribution of its AI software in Nigeria.

Healthcare Konnect will sell Oxipit's ChestEye suite of AI applications to hospitals and healthcare institutions in Nigeria. ChestEye is capable of analyzing chest x-ray images to detect 75 pathologies, including tuberculosis, and sorting them by patient prioritization.

Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa, with more than 200 million citizens, but the country only has 400 radiology specialists, Oxipit noted. Oxipit created ChestEye to address the shortage of radiologists in developing countries, and the software received the CE Mark in February 2019.
