ESR, ESOR log nearly 6K online registrants for AI event

The European Society of Radiology (ESR) and the European School of Radiology (ESOR) reported that more than 5,800 individuals from 140 countries registered for a livestream of the groups' artificial intelligence (AI) educational event held in Barcelona, Spain, on 5-6 April.

The educational event featured a series of lectures about AI technology in relation to radiology, given by more than 28 speakers from different professions. AI expert Toby Walsh, PhD, from the University of New South Wales delivered the keynote speech, which centered on the application of deep and machine learning in radiology.

"As our world has become more globally connected, the opportunities to offer education to a wider audience have grown significantly," Dr. Lorenzo Derchi, chairman of the ESR Board of Directors, said in a statement. "The success of our AI event ... proves that there is real demand for these services."
