The U.K. Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) announced it will help establish a framework for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the fields of clinical radiology and oncology.
Its principal focus will be on four areas of work:
- Defining AI and related terms
- Setting up a regulatory framework for AI in healthcare
- Ensuring quality for the implementation of AI by using standards to validate data and algorithms
- Facilitating collaboration among clinicians, patients, academic communities, industry, and the U.K. National Health Service (NHS) and its stakeholder organizations
Furthermore, the RCR hopes to work with those seeking grant funding through U.K. Research and Innovation for the development of medical AI.
