Healthcare IT firm InterSystems has sold its software platform, InterSystems Healthcare, to an agency of the Danish Ministry of Health to support information exchange throughout the country.
The Danish National Sundheds-IT is beginning development of a new service to link healthcare information systems used in different regions of Denmark. It recently signed an agreement for the Cambridge, MA-headquartered company to provide both software and implementation services.
Denmark's new national patient index will make it possible to access patient data from regional electronic health records (EHRs) and other national records through the Sundhedsjournalen national clinical portal by authorized healthcare providers.
