French company Chipiron has raised $17 million (approximately €15 million) in a Series A funding round to complete the development of its miniaturized MRI scanner.
The funding round was led by Blast, followed by the EIC Fund, and iXcore. Public funding from France2030 (SGI), the EIC Accelerator (European Commission), and ADD (Bpifrance) also contributed to the total sum.
In a statement, Chipiron said that the amount raised by this round has brought the company’s total funding to date to over $22 million (€19 million) since 2021. It intends to use the funds to build the first prototypes of its miniaturized MRI scanners and have them ready for hospital deployment, with clinical trials scheduled to begin in 2026.
The company aims to make MRI more widely accessible by making it available in local care centers, clinics, and mobile units, with a focus on the U.S. healthcare market.
