Dr. Javier Fenández Jara has been named as the general secretary of the Spanish Society of Medical Radiology (SERAM). He has vowed to ensure SERAM remains a forum for all Spanish-speaking radiologists.
Fenández Jara earned his medical degree at the University of Cádiz. His specialty is musculoskeletal radiology, and he is the current head of the radiodiagnosis service at Sanitas La Zarzuela University Hospital in Madrid.
He is a member of the Spanish Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology's board of directors and has served as a counselor with the European Society of Skeletal Radiology since 2023 and as vice president of the Association of Radiologists of the Central Region since 2022. Fenández Jara has been an international member of the editorial committee of the Journal of the Mexican Federation of Radiology and Image AC since 2021.
"I want to ensure that our society continues to be a beacon of knowledge and a meeting point for all radiologists in Spain," he said in a SERAM statement.
