Nominations open for EuroMinnies 2021 award scheme

AuntMinnieEurope.com has launched the third edition of the EuroMinnies, an annual event designed to recognize achievements in European radiology. The search is on to find out who will follow in the footsteps of Christiane Kuhl, Laura Oleaga, and other previous winners.

Women dominated the 2020 EuroMinnies awards, collecting the prizes for Most Influential Radiology Researcher, Most Effective Radiology Educator, Radiology Rising Star, and Scientific Paper of the Year. Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Norway provided the winners in these four categories.

The Most Significant News Event in European Radiology was the European ethical statement on artificial intelligence. The Best New Radiology Device was the Revolution Maxima CT scanner from GE Healthcare, while the Best New Radiology Software winner was the AI Workflow Suite from Philips Healthcare. The Best New Radiology Vendor was Smart Reporting, Munich, Germany.

The EuroMinnies give European medical imaging professionals the opportunity to highlight the contributions of their peers to the advancement of the field. AuntMinnieEurope.com is accepting nominations from members until 11 December.

An expert panel of luminary radiology professionals will select the EuroMinnies winners through two rounds of voting, culminating just before the ECR 2021 meeting.

The categories for EuroMinnies 2021 are as follows:

  • Most Influential Radiology Researcher
  • Most Effective Radiology Educator
  • Radiology Rising Star
  • Most Significant News Event in European Radiology
  • Scientific Paper of the Year
  • Best New Radiology Device
  • Best New Radiology Software
  • Best New Radiology Vendor

The EuroMinnies Rules

The EuroMinnies consist of three stages: nominations, semifinals, and finals.

You need only nominate in those categories in which you have an opinion. You can leave categories blank if you wish.

The EuroMinnies cover the one-year period between 9 December 2019 and 8 December 2020. This includes products introduced and papers presented at ECR 2020 and RSNA 2020.

Work-in-progress products and products that have not yet received regulatory clearance may be nominated for the year in which they were announced.

The Best New Radiology Vendor must have been established within the past five years.

We will record some of your membership information as part of the nomination process but will not release the information to any third party, in accordance with our privacy policy.
