Toshiba Medical Systems has secured a deal to purchase a majority stake in Turkish distributor TMST Tıbbi Sistemler Pazarlama Ticaret ve Servis.
The Istanbul-based distributor handles medical diagnostic imaging systems sales and services of Toshiba's products in Turkey. The acquisition will now enable Toshiba to carry out all business processes directly in the Turkish market and expand its local presence to increase and retain the various range of customers, according to Toshiba.
Toshiba expects to close on the acquisition and launch its new subsidiary in March.
