GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., has added needle tracking to its Logiq E9 ultrasound platform.
The new volume navigation needle tracking capability with a sensor-tipped needle is designed to overcome many of the traditional challenges of existing ultrasound needle guidance, such as needle visualization and deflection, determining entry points, and the avoidance of critical anatomy, according to the company.
The upgraded device is on display this week at the Society for Interventional Radiology (SIR) meeting in Tampa, FL.
