Brachytherapy and hyperthermia therapy developer BSD Medical of Salt Lake City has won an installation of its hyperthermia system at a Swiss hospital.
The Department of Radiation Oncology of Kantonsspital Aarau in Aarau, Switzerland, has installed the BSD-2000/3D system to deliver targeted hyperthermia to deep pelvic and abdominal tumors.
In the future, Kantonsspital Aarau will use the system in conjunction with proton therapy delivered at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) Center for Proton Radiation Therapy in Villigen, Switzerland, according to BSD Medical.
