New major service and support contracts contributed to an 11.8% increase in third-quarter net sales for Swedish PACS and digital mammography developer Sectra.
For the period (end-January), the Linköping-based vendor had net sales of 189.3 million kronor ($30.2 million U.S.), up from 169.4 million kronor ($27 million U.S.) posted in the third quarter a year ago. The company had profit after financial items of 14.4 million kronor ($2.3 million U.S.), down from profit of 26.2 million kronor ($4.2 million U.S.) last year.
The signing of large, long-term contracts during the quarter involved up-front costs that impacted profits during the initial period of the deals, Sectra said. In addition, an increasing portion of comprehensive delivery agreements have comprised both hardware and software components. These deals provide lower margins than software license sales, Sectra said.
