The Institut Curie has chosen the IBA/Besix consortium to expand the proton therapy center at its Orsay branch in Essonne, France.
Ion Beam Applications (IBA) of Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, formed a partnership with Besix for the project, through which IBA will provide approximately $38 million (U.S.) of proton therapy equipment, while Brussels-based Besix will construct the extension.
The agreement includes a long-term service and maintenance contract.
